In the News: Paula Gardiner on Satellite Photos Bylaw Enforcement

Paula Gardiner, Asper Chair in Communications, was quoted in an article on the CBC Hamilton website on the issue of using easy to access satellite imagery to enforce property bylaws.

The issue of enforcing property bylaws, such as permits for construction of a deck, shed, or additions to a house, by using a tool like Google Maps or public GIS information is a real issue according to Dr. Gardiner. Even for people who may not necessarily feel like they have anything to hide.
