Education for Our Times

This weekend the 25th Annual Ghandi Peace Festival presents Education for Our Times: Towards a Culture of Peace, Nonviolence and Social Justice.

The conference will feature keynote discussions by The Honourable Bob Rae on “Education, the Key Public Policy of our Times,” Dr. Henry A. Giroux with a lecture on “What is the Role of Higher Education in a Time of Legitimized Violence?” and panel discussions on topics ranging from Mentorship, Youth and Social Justice, Re-thinking Dominant History, and Strategies of Nonviolence.

Come on Sunday October 1 starting at 9:30 am (until 6pm) at McMaster Innovation Park (175 Longwood Road South, Hamilton).

Free lecture

On Monday October 2 the Annual Gandhi Lectures on Nonviolence will feature Shabana Azmi on “Women’s Rights, Communal Harmony, Social Justice” with free lecture starting at 6:00 pm at the Hamilton Convention Centre (1 Summers Lane, Hamilton).
