$2M gift launches campus wide Socrates Project

A two-year pilot project championed by McMaster’s President Patrick Deane and generously boosted through a $2-million investment from Chancellor Emeritus Lynton “Red” Wilson draws on McMaster’s strengths and expertise in the liberal arts. The announcement was made during the L.R. Wilson Hall Celebration hosted last night in the new building’s concert hall.

The Socrates Project has five thematic focuses: A Spotlight on the Arts, Socratic Occasions, Interdisciplinary Programs and Outreach, Local and Global Engagement and Fashioning the future.

This new gift launches the project with an ambitious start in early 2018 and beyond.
