Mischa Kuball Art Performance and Talk
12 noon: The artist presents a performative sculpture with his recent book, public preposition in front of the Museum
2 pm: Artist’sTalk in the McMaster Museum of Art
Join us in welcoming artist Mischa Kuball from Düsseldorf Germany. His public preposition book is the product of 24 projects, interventions, and performances made around the world, over the last several years. What they have in common is that they appeal to a public sphere and implicitly question in what locations and under what circumstances we define “public,” and how it should be understood.
Mischa Kuball has been working in the public and institutional sphere since 1984. He was a Professor in the Academy of Media Arts, Cologne, associate professor for media art at Hochschule für Gestaltung/ZKM, Karlsruhe and, since 2015, a member of North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts, Dusseldorf. In 2016 he was honored with the German Light Award.
Kuball’s performance and talk at McMaster is presented as a complement to the current exhibition Living, Building, Thinking: Art and Expressionism at the McMaster Museum of Art.
