The Centre for Community-Engaged Narrative Arts (CCENA), in partnership with Hamilton Arts and Letters (HAL), is excited to announce our joint event in the Joey and Toby Tanenbaum Pavilion at the Art Gallery of Hamilton (AGH) on Friday, December 1 at 7p.m.
We invite you to come out for a fast-paced, visually stimulating, and fun-filled celebration of the launch of HAL Issue ten.2 including a special dossier of essays edited by Melissa Tanti on CCENA’s growing concept of “Community-Engaged Narrative Arts.” Join us for a program featuring an original composition in response to Alex Colville’s painting ‘Horse and Train’ by Professor Dusty Micale and the Mohawk College music ensemble ArtPop, as well as an introduction to Colville’s painting by AGH Senior Curator Tobi Bruce. There will also be excerpts screened from the Short Centennial era McMaster Film Board films by Bryce Kanbara and Jim Chambers, and presentations by Gary Barwin, Dr. Jeffery Donaldson, Kaitlin Debicki, Governor General’s Award-winner R. Bruce Elder, and Klyde Broox.
The Guest Editor for HA&L Issue ten.2 is Melissa Tanti.
The Guest Poetry Editor is Canisia Lubrin.
