Patricia Cano was born and raised in a Spanish speaking Peruvian household in Sudbury, ON. She began her musical career in 2009 with her debut album This is the New World composed in four different languages with her Brazilian musical partner, Carlos Bernardo. She collaborated with Tomson Highway -Canada’s premiere Cree playwright, novelist and composer- in 2013 with his first studio album Patricia Cano sings songs from the (post) mistress, which was nominated for a 2015 Juno award in the aboriginal album of the year category. Highway was exceptionally influential in Patricia’s artistic career. Patricia has just recently released her sophomore album Madre|Amiga|Hermana.
