Welcome to the third issue of the
Music Analysis Colloquium. The
graduate students of Dr. William Renwick’s
701 Analysis class bring
collection of essays to you. This particular issue focuses on fugal
analysis on pieces by composers ranging from Palestrina to Honegger,
little Bach thrown in for good measure!
Dr. Renwick has included a very useful breakdown
aspects of fugal form. Readers who are new to the form will find
helpful in understanding the following analyses. Each
student began this project at different
theory levels with different writing styles. We hope that this variety
delight the readers of this colloquium.
