"I had the good fortune to take both my MA and PhD in the Philosophy Department at McMaster. My experience there was wholly positive: my courses were excellently led, interesting and challenging in due measure; the research facilities and funding were first-rate; my fellow graduate students proved to be as supportive as the equally generous faculty; and the staff kept the Department running like a fine clock. The practical rewards of this special academic environment became evident in my early academic career, when I secured very considerable financial support from both McMaster and SSHRC. Ultimately, after a SSHRC postdoc and Junior Research Fellowship at Cambridge University, I secured a wonderful and permanent position. My fond memories of McMaster are conjoint with my ongoing interest in its always excellent forays into legal theory by both its faculty and its very accomplished graduate students."
