Faculty Honours Students at Annual Award Ceremony
The Faculty of Humanities held its thirty-seventh annual awards assembly on Friday February 9th. The assembly honours our outstanding students across the faculty for their hard work and hard-earned honours and scholarships.
This year’s guest speaker was Communication Studies and Theatre & Film graduate Alyssa Lai. Alyssa graduated from the Communications Studies program and has gone on to make her mark in the Hamilton Community. She was honoured with the 2014 YWCA Hamilton Woman of Distinction Award in the Public Affairs category and the McMaster Hamilton Community Impact Award. She is also a writer, photographer and deeply involved in community working with non-profits and with the Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation.
A musical interlude was performed by Jong wan Steven Hur, our 2017 Bedford Award Winner, with Chopin’s Nocturne in F-Sharp Major, Op. 15 No.2.
The venue for this year was a first for our Faculty with the awards ceremony taking place in the new L.R. Wilson Hall, Concert Hall.
Congratulations to all of our students!
