MELD program combines cutting-edge research with instruction

The McMaster English-Language Development (MELD) program is similar to other English as a second language programs offering two semesters of English-language instruction for students who meet academic requirements for their chosen program but whose scores on international standardized tests aren’t high enough to meet the university’s English language requirements.

The MELD program’s unique advantage is that it combines McMaster cutting-edge research in language acquisition with program instruction creating a virtuous circle between research and instruction.
