Thursday, March 21 @ 7 PM

Health Sciences Centre Room 1A1, McMaster University

Set in a Swaziland orphanage, Liyana is a documentary that tells the story of five amazing children taking a class with a master storyteller, which enables them to turn past trauma into an original fable.  An ode to the power of storytelling and the strength of the human spirit, Liyana is an uplifting, genre-defying film that’s not to be missed!

Sponsored by the Grandmothers of Steel and OPIRG McMaster

Admission by donation with proceeds going to the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign of the Stephen Lewis Foundation.  This campaign, launched in 2006, continues to support African grandmothers in their ongoing struggle to turn the tide of the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
