Friday February 26 – Sunday February 28

McMaster University will be hosting a Model United Nations Conference on February 26-28, 2016 for its students. The conference will focus on water security and the impact of this global challenge on peace and sustainable development.

The conference will start the evening of Friday, February 26, 2016 and run through to late afternoon on Sunday, February 28, 2016. On Friday night, delegates will be welcomed to the conference at an Opening Ceremony, featuring opportunities for mingling and a chance to hear from a keynote speaker. On Saturday and Sunday, three model United Nations committees will meet in parallel to discuss and debate pre-selected topics.

The committees will be student run, and will simulate the General Assembly, Security Council, and Economic & Social Council meetings. Delegates will spend their days presenting their Member State’s position on the topics, negotiating with other delegates and seeking mutually agreed resolutions.
